Accretion is the result of building up thin layers of wax into a textured painting. There are two types of accretion: organic and controlled. You will learn both types including how to start, applying the layers, and fusing. You will also learn how to incorporate using an iron to achieve the illusion of a highly textured piece. Basic knowledge of encaustic recommended. Materials Required: Two 8×8 panels or similar. All other materials will be provided.
