WET FELTING - BAG OR BOWL

Wednesday, October 30, 2024 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Cost: $75

Make a high quality seamless wet felted bag or bowl in this beginner workshop. Wet felting is the process of using a combination of friction, soap and water to make felt out of wool fibres. The hot water and soap changes the pH of the wool roving and allows the scales on the fibres to open up and tangle together, shrinking to make a strong and durable textile. The great thing about felting, whether it be wet or needle felted is that it is an easy craft that doesn't require a long or expensive list of equipment and materials. Suggestions will be made on how to add finishing touches to your handmade creation to take it to the next level. All materials provided. DATES & TIMES Wed Oct 30th 6:30pm to 8:30pm YOUR TUTOR Monique Stewart. Monique works with textiles and incorporates Lino Block printing, stitching, and feltwork into her art. She is based in Grey County and works under the name Stone Tree Water. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING All materials provided ACCESSIBILITY Hand strength and coordination required Wheelchair accessible
