Heritage Harbour Walks
Enjoy an evening stroll along the waterfront with the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre’s Heritage Harbour Walks. James Giberson will entertain and educate on a 45 minute tour which will leave you with a deeper understanding of Owen Sound’s history. As you walk along the water you will learn about the hustle and bustle that once kept Owen Sound so busy that you could "walk across the harbour on the decks of ships." From the arrival of the railways to a shipbuilding history which started before that of Collingwood, you'll find yourself shocked at just how much there is to learn about our harbour's past. In the event of rain, James will present from the comfort of our historic train car, Coach 4884. Tours run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Summer. They start at the CWHC (1155 1st Ave. W) at 7:00pm. The museum opens at 6:30 to give participants the chance to look through the galleries and use the washrooms. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.50 for CWHC VIP members, and $5 for youth (age 5-11). They can be purchased in person at the CWHC or online.
